An Autism Parent’s Retreat: Relaxing Your Mind, Body and Soul – 2018
27 Jul @ 12:00 PM - 29 Jul @ 12:00 PM
The first annual North Carolina Autism Parent Retreat: Relaxing Your Mind, Body and Soul will take place July 27th-29th at the St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville. This retreat is designed to provide a relaxing and supportive environment for parents or caregivers to reflect on and share the rewards and challenges of raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We prefer that participants attend as pairs who share caregiving responsibilities for a child or adult with autism. Please note that this event is for caregivers only and you will need to arrange your own childcare to attend the retreat.
At this retreat, there will be opportunities for relaxation, discussion, networking, making friends, having fun, and learning from other parents. Although there will be opportunities to learn through discussion sessions, the format of the will be different from a conference in that there will be no formal educational presentations and the atmosphere will be casual. Attendees will have choices during each session and are not required to participate in any retreat activities that do not interest them – this is your weekend!
We are currently accepting registration applications and look forward to hosting this weekend. Our aim is to include a range of parents from various geographic regions and autism experiences. Space is limited, so there will be a selection process for admission to the retreat.
Fees for the event are $450 per couple. Fees include:
- lodging for Friday and Saturday evenings
- all meals and gratuities
Refund Policy: We will give full refunds until 60 days before the retreat. After that time, if the organizers are able to replace your family with someone from the waitlist, you will get a voucher to register for next year’s retreat (but no refund). In the event that we cannot replace your family from the waitlist, they will not get a refund or a voucher.
