Please can help me share my post little girl age 5 going climb small mountain for 2 great charities.
My Granddaughter Ava (5) is competing in the final of Junior Miss Sccotland for the Little Miss Scotand title. Ava is from Lochgoilhead and attends primary one at Lochgoilhead Primary School. This is Ava’s first pageant and she is excited to begin this amazing adventure. The pageant takes place November 5th at the Kings Park Hotel Glasgow.
Part of the pageant is taking part in raising awareness and fundraising for the events affiliated charity the United Together Foundation a very worthwhile charity. The Foundation provides a wide range of services that help prevent bullying, racism, and discrimination as well as supporting those who’ve felt the impacts of these actions. Ava will also be raising funds and awareness for Scottish Autism; a charity very close to my family’s heart. Ava’s brother Liam (4) has autism and is non verbal. As a family we wish to raise awareness and understanding of this disability. Scottish Autism is a charity that exists to help those diagnosed with autism to lead full and enriched lives and become valued members of the community they live in. Any funds raised will be split between these two charity’s.
During the October School Holidays Ava, Liam, myself, members of our family and some of her classmates (to show “UNIGHTED TOGETHER”) will be attempting to climb the Steeple; a small mountain in the Ardgoil Penisula and Arrochar Alps behind the village of Lochgoilhead within the Loch Lomand and Trossachs National Park. The peak reaches a height of 378m.We have previously held a fundraiser and raised £400 for Liam and Lochgoilhead Primary School to purchase PEC cards which help Liam’s communication skills and sensory equipments and any other items he may need to fulfill his learning needs and requirements.
